In this hands-on workshop, Ken will review basic terminology, the use of plant ID “keys” and features you can use to ID plant families.

The free workshop is suitable for beginners and for specialists looking for a refresher in plant family identification. Invasive plant field staff, biologists interested in plant identification and field technicians will likely find this course interesting.

Our natural history curators engage in a knock-down, drag-out debate to decide on the most interesting and important species in or near the ocean. 

Come see some unique specimens from the collection, and cheer for Team Vertebrate (Dr. Gavin Hanke), Team Invertebrate (Dr. Henry Choong) or Team Entomology (Dr. Joel Gibson). The audience will decide the winner.
