Royal Visitors at the Museum

While there have been many royal visitors to the museum, the late Queen Mother will always be close to our heart. In 1966 she laid the cornerstone for the building that presently houses the provincial collection.Other distinguished visitors include Princess Alexandra.

In 1987 His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, brought a gift from Her Majesty in recognition of 100 years of public service—our designation as the Royal British Columbia Museum. Below is the cover page from the invitation to that event.
