HRH Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and the Miracle Mile

In 1954, His Royal Highness Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, stopped in Victoria during a trip to Vancouver, where he was to open the British Empire Games (the forerunner of the modern Commonwealth Games). It was at these games that Roger Bannister and John Landy made sporting history by running a mile in under four minutes.
