Museum Happy Hour: Fake Out!

Join us on the second Thursday of the month for themed events and activities for adults. Drinks and light fare are available for purchase. Events are limited to designated galleries and are not museum-wide.

Fake Out!

Don’t let Mother Nature pull a fast one on you. Find out about nature’s fakes. Takes place in the Natural History gallery.

Is this true or are we lying to you? Test your sleuthing skills and try to identify which of the weird and wonderful natural history specimens on display are actually fakes! All will be revealed at the end of the night. Feeling crafty? Make your own monster mashup. Ever wondered if our famous wooly mammoth is real? Take a sneak peak behind the scenes to learn about how museums make fakes. Want to relax a bit? Grab a drink and a friend then head over to a corner table for themed party games.

Bring the kids! Our Parallel Play Childminding is available for this event.

This is a 19+ only event. Valid photo ID is required for entry. To ensure the safety of our guests and museum collections alike, Security will conduct ID, bag and spot checks at the entrance. Prohibited items include any controlled substance, alcohol (not purchased at the event) and dangerous items. Any items not permitted at the event will be collected at the door prior to entry. The Royal BC Museum will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
