Why We Are Here! is Nightswimming Theatre's (Toronto, ON) portable pop-up choir that places audience at the centre of an exhilarating choral adventure in which the audience are the singers.

Featuring one of Victoria's top choral leaders, WWAH! is an interactive singing experience through the museum galleries that brings friends and strangers together to create and experience an invigorating theatrical event about right here and right now.

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup empowers all Canadians to take action for healthy waterways by taking part in shoreline cleanups. Presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, the Shoreline Cleanup is a national program of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF-Canada. Cleanups can take place any time of year, anywhere land connects to water, including rivers, lakes, streams and beaches.

The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre’s award-winning AquaVan is making a splash at the Royal BC Museum with live marine animals from British Columbia’s coast! AquaVan Educators will facilitate learning through hands-on exploration of aquatic life from around the world. Touch a sea star, examine a hermit crab and discover the connections between our aquatic life, the environment, and ourselves.

The Royal City Music Project: Archives and the Golden Age of Rock & Roll in Victoria

Glenn Parfitt, BC music historian and heritage advocate, will describe how he created an online archives – the Royal City Music Project. He’ll recall Victoria’s ‘Golden Age of Rock & Roll’ during the 1950s and 1960s. He’ll evoke Victoria’s ‘Summer of Love,’ when the capital city thrilled to a ‘battle of the bands’ in July 1967.  The winner had the honour of being the opening act at a concert at Memorial Arena. The concert (advertised as a ‘love in’) featured the Painted Ship and the Collectors from Vancouver and the Doors from Los Angeles.
