Home Learners Workshop Series
This four-week workshop will be an opportunity to investigate the lives of historical and forgotten Victoria residents, up close and personal. Who were they? How did they live? What motivated them?
This social history workshop will consider these questions and more, examining clues found in photographs, documents and artifacts within the museum’s collections and archives.

On a late summer day, many years ago, a young man set out on a voyage through the mountains. He never reached his destination. When his remains were discovered by three British Columbia hunters, roughly three hundred years after he was caught by a storm or other accident and became frozen in a glacier, his story had faded from even the long memory of the region’s people. First Nations elders decided to call the discovery Kwädąy Dän Ts’ìnchį—Long Ago Person Found.
Our format for November is inspired by pub quizzes. The November 9 event will combine general museum trivia and a focus on our natural history collection. Maximum team size is six people and there will be a prize for the winning team.
Drinks and light fare available for purchase. The event will be held in the Natural History gallery.
