Night Shift: Pride—a safe space for all

Pride celebrations should be a safe space for everyone, and we’re doing our best to make sure our Night Shift: Pride event is as fabulous as possible for everyone who attends.  

You already know about all the show-stopping performances and activities we have planned, from DJs and drag to photo booths and craft stations, but here’s a few of the other things we’re doing to make sure your night is a flawlessly safe and inclusive experience:  

• Non-gendered washrooms. You know what really kills the party vibe? Not knowing where you’re supposed to pee. For Night Shift, all the museum’s bathrooms will be open to everyone. However you identify, we’ve got you covered.
   
• If you have questions, we (probably) have answers! Discussions with speakers like David Hardwick and Marianne Alto and presentations from groups like AIDS Vancouver Island and the University of Victoria Trans Archives will make sure there’s never a dull moment, even if you do stop dancing for a minute or two. That’s in addition to all the great content about the history of Pride and the LGBTQ2S+ rights movement in BC that we’re putting together for you!
   
• Have concerns? We can help! Our on-site Consent Captain will be available to help resolve any issues that come up during the night, offer support, and make sure everyone is being treated with the respect they deserve.

We still have some tickets left, but they’re going fast, so get them while you can! Night Shift: Pride is on Saturday, July 6, from 8 pm to midnight, and it’s going to be amazing—we’re so excited to see you!
