Astronomy Days 2024

Join members of the Victoria Centre Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Science Venture, University of Victoria and others as they present amazing astronomical activities for all ages.

Activities throughout the day include:

RASC Welcome Table Information, hand-outs, books and magazines, Memberships
Telescope Show and Tell Try out telescopes and ask questions
Solar Telescope viewing View the sun safely through solar telescopes (weather permitting)
Astrophotography Find out how to take photos of the night sky with your own camera or cell phone and see the work of RASC members
Children's Astro Crafts Kids make their own astronomy and space souvenirs
UVic Science Venture Hands-on, minds-on science, engineering and technology learning for youth and families
Ask an Astronomer Find answers to those questions about astronomy and space you always wanted to ask
Responsible Lighting Information on good lighting for your home and your community
Constellation Shows Look for your favorite Constellations using the Stellarium App on a smart screen
Friends of the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory Star Parties, school programs, community tours, Virtual Reality, astronomy hand-outs
UVic Astronomy and Physics Interactive astronomy for students
Camosun College Astronomy Demonstrations, information about Astronomy courses, university transfer
Monterey Middle School Find out about the Monterey Astronomy Club at the school and how you can start one at your own school

IMAX® Victoria will screen special presentations of Deep Sky , Asteroid Hunters and Hubble throughout the day. Regular admission to IMAX applies.
