Spoken Word with Nisha Patel

April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate we are joined by Nisha Patel, award-winning Indo-Canadian poet, artist, and public speaker from Edmonton, Alberta. She is the current Poet Laureate for the City of Edmonton and Regional Writer in Residence at Strathcona County and St. Albert. She is also the 2019 Canadian Individual Slam Champion and the Executive Director of the Edmonton Poetry Festival. Nisha is taking part in the 12th annual Victorious Voices, happening April 12-15.

For this session, Nisha will provide a writing prompt or two to get you started on creating your own poems- so make sure you have paper and a pencil close by.

Each session will have some kind of making activity, so get your paper and pencil crayons ready. RBCM @ Home(Kids) takes place on Wednesdays at 11 am, visit our calendar for topics, presenters and a list of materials so you can join in with hands-on activities at home.

For adults and youth, check out RBCM @ Home. This program takes place on Tuesdays at 12pm and highlights members of the curatorial and collections staff who are working from home during the pandemic and discover how they do their work, how their work is reflected in their homes and what they're working on now.
