The Big Blue and You: Educator Professional Development

Join the Royal BC Museum and Ocean Networks Canada for this exciting professional development day, aimed at educators interested in teaching about the ocean. All levels of educators are welcome, with programming best suited to middle and high school educators.

This workshop will highlight species of the intertidal zone, field practices and methods, observatory data, and how they all have unique and joint applications in classrooms. A special focus will include using ONC data as a free, accessible tool to bring the ocean to any classroom via the internet. Teachers will also explore resources, lesson plans, activities, and tools for inquiry, and explore hands-on lessons from the Ocean Networks Canada's and the Royal BC Museum.

A portion of this workshop will take place outside (regardless of weather), so please dress accordingly.
