Live at Lunch: Anarchival Materiality in the BC Archives

Find out what’s happening at the museum and archives in these monthly talks featuring curators, staff and researchers. Lectures are held on the first Wednesday of each month.

What can a bottle of Insectoblitz, a gooey stack of glass plate negatives and a live bullet tell us about archives? In this presentation researcher Dr.Trudi Lynn Smith will share photographs and video that emerged from her collaboration with archivists, conservators and preservation managers at the BC Archives. Her visual work explores the question of how archival documents, imagined as permanent static objects, actually change over time and make new works.
