Learning about Leaves with Dr. Ken Marr
Everyone classifies objects into groups all the time, whether it is our clothing, toys, movies or books. But why do we do this? And how does it help us make sense of the world around us.
During this session you will classify leaves that you collect from different plants around your yard or neighbourhood. Gently remove a single leaf from as many different plants as you can find prior to the session. Spread the leaves out on a table or counter during the session, and our Curator of Botany Dr. Ken Marr will help you decide how you would like to create groups. There is no right answer! What features are you considering as you do this? You will want to use all your senses (except taste!).
RBCM @ Home (Kids) is hosted by Chris O'Connor.

For adults and youth, check out RBCM @ Home.
