Sleepover camps aren’t just for kids! Adults, join us for a night of food, entertainment, and adventurous thematic-themed excursions throughout the museum, inspired by our feature exhibition Maya: The Great Jaguar Rises. Bring your sleeping bag, pj’s, your favourite teddy and set up camp in the museum’s galleries.
Get ready for some midnight fun with your besties—you’ll want your friends to join you on this adventure, an experience like no other in Victoria.
6:30pm – 7:00pm | Registration – meet us in the main lobby of the museum for check-in and to receive a $10 voucher for use at participating Food Truck Festival vendors. |
7:00pm – 8:00pm | Welcoming Activities – lightly facilitated activities and music to enjoy with dinner and to get us warmed up for the evening ahead! |

Excursions – fun, playful, surprising, and informative staff-led journeys inspired by our feature exhibition, Maya: The Great Jaguar Rises. Sign up for two of the following five excursions:

10:00pm – 11:30pm | Choose Your Own Adventure – self-led and lightly facilitated activities throughout the galleries, including after-hours exploration of Maya: The Great Jaguar Rises and a scrumptious evening snack. |
11:30pm – 12:00am | Setting Up Camp in the Becoming BC Gallery – stake your claim for a sleeping spot in the streets of Old Town, aboard the H.M.S. Discovery, and more! |

12:00am - ? | Night Owl Activities – optional staff-led activities for campers who aren’t yet ready for bed, including a fort-building contest, behind-the-scenes flashlight tours, and a grown-up bedtime story. |

This is a 19+ only event. Valid photo ID is required for entry. To ensure the safety of our guests and museum collections alike, Security will conduct ID, bag and spot checks at the entrance. Prohibited items include any controlled substance, alcohol (not purchased at the event) and dangerous items. Any items not permitted at the event will be collected at the door prior to entry. The Royal BC Museum will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
The Royal BC Museum hosts events where everyone is responsible for maintaining space that is safe for all participants. This includes expressing opinions in a respectful manner and respectfully accepting others’ rights to do the same.
