Peter Broughton, author of Northern Star: J.S. Plaskett, will illuminate Canadian astronomer John Stanley Plaskett, a man who put Canada on the world stage of science when he established the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory just north of Victoria, a century ago. The research that he carried out there with the once-largest telescope in the world earned him many of science's highest international awards.
