Step through the doors of the oldest house in British Columbia still on its original site and experience what Christmas was like in Victoria more than 100 years ago. Decorations, music and first-hand accounts will take you back to Christmas past.

Mammals have developed a variety of strategies to survive the harsh winter months. Some stockpile food during the summer and rely on their thick, fuzzy coats to stay warm. Others migrate to milder climates or hibernate through the cold. Join us as we explore specimens from the Royal BC Museum collection with Anna, our Collection Manager of Birds and Mammals, to uncover how different mammals stay safe and cozy during the chilliest time of the year. We'll wrap up the program with a heartwarming winter story.

As Winter Solstice approaches, join students from Camosun College’s Anthropology of Death class for an insightful exploration into burial traditions and landscapes of the dead (necrogeographies). Journey into the world of ancient mysteries in this art class. Young artists will embark on an adventure by first visiting the feature exhibition Stonehenge to learn all about the incredible history and secrets of this ancient place.
Back in the classroom, our experienced instructor will guide students step-by-step in creating their very own Stonehenge landscape, followed by a miniature stone megalith. This hands-on activity will inspire creativity and offer a unique way to explore one of history’s most fascinating structures.
The Victoria Children’s Choir is considered to be one of the top choral and music organizations in the city, and is highly respected for its consistent professional level of performing music throughout the Concert Season.
