Masque, 1971

Dans ce masque, l’artiste haida Ron Wilson utilisa des éléments tirés d’un masque-portrait de la collection du Musée royal de la C.-B. (RBCM 9913) qui fut recueilli à Lakalzap en 1912. Il les adapta ensuite à son propre style. Le masque est fait de bois de bouleau brut. RBCM 13896

Simon Charlie (1919 – 2005)
Statue d’accueil (1967)

L’éminent artiste salish de la Côte Simon Charlie sculpta cette statue d’accueil dans le parc Thunderbird pour l’Expo 67 de Montréal. Elle se tient maintenant près de l’entrée de l’exposition sur les Premières Nations dans le Musée royal de la C.-B. pour accueillir les visiteurs et leur rappeler qu’ils se trouvent sur les terres ancestrales des Salishs de la Côte. Cette statue mesure presque trois mètres de haut. RBCM 19114
