• How do I become a Royal BC Museum member?

  You can purchase a membership online or in person at the box office.

• How do I renew my Royal BC Museum membership?

  You can renew online by signing in or in person at the box office.

• Do my guests receive a discount?

  As a member, you receive 10% off admission for guests visiting with member (up to two (2) guests per visit). If purchasing in person, show your membership card at the time of purchase to receive discount. If purchasing online, please sign-in to your Royal BC Museum online account to redeem discount. If you’re a current member but your online account has not been set up, please create a new account or email membership@royalbcmuseum.bc.ca for assistance.

• How do I visit the museum as a member? Do I need a ticket?

  Enjoy express entry to the museum by presenting your Royal BC Museum membership card at the escalator. As a member you do not need an admission ticket.

• What if I forgot my membership card?

  No problem, just stop by the box office with a piece of photo ID.

• Does my membership include entry to feature exhibitions?

  As a member, you are entitled entry to all of our core galleries and feature exhibitions.

• How long is my membership valid?

  Memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Memberships expire on the last day of the expiry month.

• Can I put the cost I paid for an admission ticket towards a Royal BC Museum membership?

  Bring your Royal BC Museum admission ticket to the box office on the same day you visit and we will deduct the cost of your ticket from the membership. One museum admission can be applied per membership purchased.

• Do my guests receive a discount?

  As a member, you receive 10% off your guest’s museum admission. If purchasing in person, show your membership card at the time of purchase. If purchasing online, please sign-in to your Royal BC Museum online account to redeem discount. If you’re a current member but your online account has not been set up, please create a new account or email membership@royalbcmuseum.bc.ca for assistance.

• How do I redeem my member discount?

  1. Royal Museum Shop: Present your membership card at the time of purchase.
  2. Shop at IMAX® Victoria: Show your current membership card at the time of purchase.
  3. IMAX® Victoria tickets: When purchasing online, sign-in to your Royal BC Museum online account. If purchasing in person, show your membership card at the time of purchase.
• How can I update my contact information?

  To ensure you continue to receive up-to-date information about what’s on at the Royal BC Museum, please contact the membership department by email at membership@royalbcmuseum.bc.ca to update your contact information as needed.

• Is my Royal BC Museum Membership refundable?

  Memberships are non-refundable.

• Can someone else use my membership?

  Memberships are specific to the individual member and are non-transferable.

• If I renew or buy a new membership online, is it active right away?

  Yes. Online renewals are active right away, you will just need to visit the box office on your next visit to collect your membership card.

• When will I receive my membership cards?

  When you purchase your membership in person, you will receive your card immediately. If you purchase your membership online, your cards will be ready for pick-up on your first visit.

• How do I replace a lost or stolen membership card?

  Membership cards can be replaced if lost or stolen at the box office. There is a $5 replacement fee per card.
