Get Hoppy

Join us for a FREE livestream with our friends at the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration and Ontario’s Royal Botanical Gardens. Explore wetland habitats and amphibians with us 11 am Pacific time (2pm Eastern time for our friends in Ontario).

Wetlands are a critical habitat for a variety of amphibians such as frogs, toads and salamanders. Since these animals are sensitive to environmental changes they are important indicator species. The health of the wetland though can also be impacted by the introduction of non-native species. What is using your wetland as habitat? Come with your curiosity and be ready to learn from living animals and specimens in collections. Curator of vertebrate zoology at the Royal BC Museum, Dr. Gavin Hanke and educator Karin Davidson-Taylor at Royal Botanical Gardens will help immerse us all in the damp wetland world!

All ages welcome with a focus for grades 4 to 6 classrooms.
