The Origins of Black History Month and BC Black Pioneers and Notable Black Citizens

Ron Nicholson, Vice President of the BC Black History Awareness Society, will be giving a two part Black History presentation. He speaks about the mandate of the Society and the importance and origins of Black History Month. The second focus of his presentation will be a brief description and outline of a number of BC black pioneers dating back to 1858; and some mention of other more recent notable Black Citizens. A number of books about BC Black History from his own personal collection will be on display; as well as a limited number of fliers (handouts) on the entertaining events upcoming during Black History here in Victoria.
